I am first and foremost grateful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the fulfillment of a life-long dream of raising and showing high quality dogs. Saint Bernard’s have been my love for over 50 years and while I showed some in the late 60’s and early 70’s, I had to abandon those dreams for several years. I got back into the show ring around 2000 with a Saint and then with Beagles a few years later.
While always being a self-made person and having success at showing my own dogs, there were times it was impossible to do so. God gave me contacts at those times that enabled the showing to continue without my presence. My first thanks must go to Eileen Dresher for her expert grooming and willingness to show me how to groom as well and for her invaluable show ring tips. I never got near her masterful abilities, but I did do well enough to get by. She, too, was the first one I ever entrusted one of my babies with and never regretted it. She showed Chance to his championship and then pointed me toward Dan Buchwald who went on and campaigned him so successfully. Dan also showed my Saint, Hope, to three back to back majors to finish her for her championship and contributed to her Grand Championship point accumulation.
Dan was good to me and my dogs and thus I subsequently entrusted him with my beloved Tira whom he took to several top honors. I will be forever grateful, Dan, for our relationship and your excellent care and handling of my dogs. Now, as I write this, I am even more grateful for you taking Jordan’s and my Trystan from a long ago part-time show dog now turned farm dog, back to winning in the show ring. You are amazing!
Jamie Lamphier spent time showing and loving Chance for me and now has my little Laurel (Pickles to her) and I am grateful for the home, and loving care she and her mom are giving her.
God fulfilled another need in that a young man came to me needing something for his life and that something turned out to be Ch. Everwind’s a Tryst In The Park. I gave Jordan LaPlaca a co-ownership, and total possession, of that neat little dog. Trystan spent four years just being Jordan’s farm dog with a rare appearance at a dog show. He has filled a huge need in Jordan’s life and Trystan has never been happier. The move also brought us into a relationship so special that I have lovingly brought Jordan into Everwind Beagles with me. He is an extreme asset and a real delight to mentor and encourage as well as a huge encouragement to me. He brings much natural talent to the program and a remarkable eye for a good dog. He is extremely excited about showing and does a great job.
With Saints being the big dog love of my life I am very grateful to Marilyn Balikowski of Cornerstone Saints who enabled me to acquire my beloved “Hope” (GCh. Cornerstone’s Chasing Time) and fill a huge need in my life. I so love this breed, I am somewhat empty without at least one of them around. Hope is one of my most prized possessions and I am so grateful to Marilyn for allowing me this opportunity. Hope has been amazing as a house dog, farm dog, show dog, and as a mother.
I want to thank all exhibitors and friends who have encouraged and helped me as I learned the ropes and sometime struggled to get it all together.
Thank you, all!!!!!!!
